SC Picture Project / Barnwell County / Blackville Methodist Church

The historic Blackville Methodist Church in Barnwell County dates back to the mid-1800s. The foundation of the current church is the original foundation from the first church, which was destroyed by a fire in 1887.

Union troops used the church to store their horses during the Civil War. This simple yet beautiful church is part of Blackville’s Heritage Trail.

What a lovely structure. So similar to churches in New England.
