SC Picture Project / Charleston County / Folly River

The sun sets over the tranquil Folly River, which flows along the back (north) side Folly Beach. A friendly and relaxed beach town, Folly Beach is lovingly known as “The Edge of America.”

Folly River is part of the Stono River Watershed, and its network of waterways includes Folly Creek, Cole Creek, Cutoff Reach, Kings Flat Creek (shown below), Oak Island Creek, and Robbins Creek.
