Gaffney Visitors Center

The Gaffney Visitors Center moved in November 2010 into its newly renovated home at in downtown Gaffney. The building was built in 1912 and used to be a post office. It had fallen into disrepair over the years, until the city decided to fix it and move the visitors center here. The beautifully restored building is called the “grand dame” by locals and brings much pride to the city.

Hello, we are not directly affiliated with the Gaffney Visitors Center but offer this collective history to showcase the landmark. We recommend reaching out to them directly; the number is 864-487-6244. Thanks and hope this helps!

Leighann, Margie had asked if you were still collecting Revolutionary War family histories to be used as panel? I hope you still have our information and can use it. Captain William Wilkins and John Nuckolls. Thanks, Jane and Margie.

Thank you so much, B.J.! We have double-checked and it really did take place in Cherokee County. I am glad you enjoy SCIWAY!

Love our sciway website of S.C.

As I was viewing COWPENS I notice it states that it is in Gaffney, S.C. I disagree. It is Cowpens or Spartanburg county not Cherokee County.
