This turn-of-the-century schoolhouse in the New Zion community of Clarendon County opened in the fall of the 1911 school year. The rural school initially served 55 students from first grades through fifth grade and focused on agriculture. The school likely closed in the mid-century as schools consolidated. Today the building is utilized as a community center, acting as a voting precinct and a gathering place.
