St. Thomas Chapel in the Pines

SC PICTURE PROJECT Leave a Comment

SC Picture Project / Darlington County / St. Thomas Chapel in the Pines

This chapel, constructed of wood-lap siding, sits off a gravel road in the middle of a pine stand in the Mont Clare community of Darlington. A spiritual oasis in the woods, it is located not far from another church, Mont Clare Baptist. Mont Clare Baptist also maintains the Mont Clare Community Center, which the congregation of Mont Clare Mission once used for Sunday worship. St. Thomas is privately owned by the Coxe family of Skufful Plantation.
