SC Picture Project / Edgefield County / Slade Lake

The serene waters of Slade Lake cover 36 acres in historic Edgefield. The lake is a popular fishing and leisure spot, open to fishermen on Wednesdays and weekends from April through November.

Paddle-driven boats and electric trolling motors are permitted on the lake, and pedal boats frequently color the water’s surface. Slade Lake offers a public fishing pier as well as a boat ramp, which is located near the trail head of the Ten Governors Trail Rail, a .9-mile trail that winds around the lake’s shore and stays safely lit 24 hours a day.
