The park is located on Ocean Boulevard in the heart of Myrtle Beach, and has been entertaining families for over 40 years. Family Kingdom is home to the legendary Swamp Fox wooden roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, and over 30 other rides and attractions. You will also find your fill of funnel cakes, cotton candy, and corn dogs!

Also, don’t forget your swimsuit! Family Kingdom has a large water park right on the seashore that includes three serpentine water flumes which fall over 100 feet, speed slides, splash pools, a kiddie area, and a 400-foot-long lazy river.

Reflections on Myrtle Beach Family Kingdom Amusement Park

Frequent contributor and Myrtle Beach resident Gregg Turbeville tells us about capturing his photo, featured above: “This shot was taken early on the morning of July 19, 2011, before the summer tourists started moving about. This view is from 3rd Ave S looking South- West along Ocean Blvd. On the right, you can see the Ferris wheel located at the Family Kingdom Amusement Park.

I learned to swim where the Swamp Fox Roll-A-Coaster Shown in the picture is today. Withers Swash was filled in to make dry land for the coaster site. Couldn’t have happened with the Clean Air & Water Act in today’s society. I’m a MB native born 1946, my mother 1916, and my grandmother [before Conway ‘discovered’ MB] in 1894.
