Roseland Plantation

SC PICTURE PROJECT 5 Comments

SC Picture Project / Jasper County / Roseland Plantation

Photographer Edward Huguenin writes: “Roseland Plantation near Coosawhatchie was purchased in 1782 by David Huguenin, a descendant of Outhenyn chiez Huguenin, after it was confiscated from a Tory Baron named John Rose. Roseland has been home to descendants of David until the present day. The oak trees in the picture are near the Huguenin family cemetery, which dates back to the 1790s.”

Hi! My mother has done quite a lot of research into the Huguenin family. We are descendants now living in San Diego since around 1900. Let me know if you’d like any info.

I am a Hugunin. Planning a visit to South Carolina, can you send me more info by mail? Have hit a brick wall in my Family Tree. Thank you so much.

Dear Lynnette, thank you so much for your comment. I am sad to say that we have no printed resources to send. However, perhaps someone with more knowledge about your family tree will see this comment and be able to contact you. Best of luck!
