SC Picture Project / South Carolina / Add Your Picture

When you contribute an image to the South Carolina Picture Project, you will receive full credit (including a link if desired), and you will also retain full ownership of your image.

Submission Criteria

(1) Images may not include watermarks, embedded copyrights, digital date stamps, borders, or vignettes.

You will receive a large credit directly below your photo. Your photo will be right-click protected, and it be accompanied the unequivocal statement, “Do not use without written consent.” If someone asks us to use your photo, we will forward the request to you for your determination.

(2) Images should be sent at their highest resolution, and they must be at least 1,200 pixels wide.

Because this is a historical repository, we ask for the largest available files for safekeeping and future documentation.

(3) The picture must truly say “South Carolina.”

Generic scenes – such as backyard flowers or wildlife – will not be considered. Close-ups of people cannot be added unless they are accompanied by a model release.

(4) The picture should not be overly “Photoshopped.”

Our goal is to document South Carolina as it is, so if a photo has been heavily edited, we may be unable to add it.
