Workman Crossroads — Workman, South Carolina

Adopt A South Carolina Landmark
Workman Crossroads

We know very little about the community of Workman Crossroads thus far. The community is thought to be named for the former owner of a now-shuttered general store standing on the corner of Mcintosh Road and Sumter Highway in Williamsburg County. While served by the Kingstree Post Office, giving it a Kingstree address, the people of this area refer to their home as Workman, or sometimes, “The Corner.”

Homesteads, two general stores (one historic), an historic church building, farm buildings, and school buildings all stand in various stages of decay around the crossroads. We are actively seeking additional information to add to this entry. If you can help, please add information below. Thank you!
