Edgefield Veterans’ Memorial Park

SC PICTURE PROJECT Leave a Comment

SC Picture Project / Edgefield County / Edgefield Veterans’ Memorial Park

This new park in Edgefield pays homage to all American veterans and especially those who have a connection to Edgefield County. It was created by American Legion Post 30, whose nickname, Hezzie Griffis, honors Hezzie Franklin Griffis, an Edgefield son who lost his life at age 23 in World War I. Edgefield Veterans’ Memorial Park is located across from the National Guard Armory on Highway 25.
