SC Picture Project / Calhoun County / Totness Cabins

These historic cabins, now fallen into ruin, are located at the corner of Old Belleville Road and Great Circle Drive in Totness, South Carolina. We know little about them as of yet and are eager to learn more. If you can help, please write share@scpictureproject.org. Thank you!

When returning home from the Lowcountry, I took a chance and randomly turned off US 176. After a few miles I came across these structures, some in better shape that others. I was not aware that there was a placed called Totness on the map, but there it was when I got home and started researching the area. On other maps it appears simply as “Tots.” I am guessing that these are a former tenant home next to some former animal or hay barns.
