This stately lion statue marks Alfair Lane, an unpaved road in the Berkeley County community of Jamestown. An identical lion atop a brick column sits on the other side of the road entry. The rural street was named in honor of former resident Alfair Phyall Callum, who was born in 1893 and lived through the mid-twentieth century. The memorial plaque and lions were dedicated to Alfair Callum by her family.
