Teapot Museum

SC Picture Project / Orangeburg County / Teapot Museum

When you enter this door, you just might think you’ve fallen through the rabbit hole. A 20-foot-long teapot houses this unique attraction in Elloree, officially called J’s Tea-rific Teapot Museum. The museum opened on June 9, 2012, showcasing tens of thousands of teapots and accessories collected by owners Dr. Julian and Sybil Boland over more than 20 years.

The Bolands operate their museum behind their business, Boland Pharmacy. The museum, which includes a popular Noah’s Ark-themed display of animal and Biblical teapots arranged in a boat-shaped cabinet (seen below), charges no admission and is open Wednesdays through Fridays.

Sadly, Dr. Julian Boland died in 2014 and the museum was thought to be closed for good. In 2019, the museum was donated to the non-profit organization “For All Paws” and is in the process of reopening. For more information on tours, you are are able to call 803-983-3210 or email tearificteapotmuseum@windstream.net for more information.
