Old Aiken Post Office

SC PICTURE PROJECT 1 Comment

SC Picture Project / Aiken County / Old Aiken Post Office

The old Aiken Post Office, built in 1912, is located on the corner of Laurens Street and Park Avenue in downtown Aiken. The building stands as a beautiful example of Classical Revival architecture, and the exterior has remained nearly unaltered for more than a century. In 2008, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions leased the building and began renovations.

I recently purchased a building that has old brass mailboxes, and I would like to know or see pictures of others. If it’s truly Aiken, would love to donate to the museum.
